Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out how the implementation of independent learning curriculum management at SMP Negeri 4 Siborongborong. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative research method using observation, interview, and documentation techniques. Data analysis was carried out by data reduction techniques, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. As for checking the validity of the data, it is by using triangulation techniques and sources. The results of this study describe the implementation of independent learning curriculum management at SMP Negeri 4 Siborongborong, by conducting (1) Planning the Independent Learning Curriculum by analyzing school needs, making developments on the school operational curriculum, ensuring that teachers receive appropriate training, (2) organizing the Independent Learning Curriculum by arranging a system for dividing teachers' teaching schedules, making a list of subjects, and teachers making teaching modules and participating in training, (3) the implementation of the Independent Learning Curriculum is carried out in accordance with the needs of students, conducting intracurricular, extracurricular, and co-curricular learning, participating in the Driving Teacher Program and Training on the Independent Teaching Platform and (4) The evaluation of the independent learning curriculum is carried out to see the readiness and understanding of teachers and students in adapting the curriculum. This study concludes that the success of a school is highly dependent on the implementation of a curriculum that is effective, relevant, and in accordance with the needs of students and the development of the times. The implementation of independent learning curriculum management at SMP Negeri 4 Siborongborong has been done well even though the school still has several obstacles in implementing it. The obstacles they face are the difficulties of some teachers in adapting to technology, the readiness of students in independent learning, and the limitations of facilities and infrastructure, including computers, infocus, and appropriate teaching materials.
