Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find outHow strategic management is implemented to improve the quality of education at SMK Negeri 1 Pagaran. This study used qualitative research methods, with data collection conducted through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study are as follows:(1) The principal conducts an analysis of the school environment using a SWOT analysis, which aims to identify the weaknesses, strengths, opportunities and challenges of the school. At SMK Negeri 1 Pagaran, there are strengths including: the curriculum is based on the Center of Excellence (PK) curriculum, the curriculum refers to the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (SKKNI) scheme, the availability of supporting facilities such as laboratories and libraries, several teachers have participated in training to improve their competencies, and weaknesses, namely; lack of teacher understanding of new paradigm learning, teacher understanding of the P5BK program is not optimal, limited learning facilities and infrastructure can impact the effectiveness of the learning process. (2) Determination of goals, where the goals in question are long-term goals.The long-term goals of the school are focused on character building for students to be ready for three main things: work, continuing education, and entrepreneurship. (3) The selection of strategies is very important in improving the quality of education, where in choosing a strategy the principal considers real conditions in the field, follows current developments, and adapts to the school's vision and mission, namely producing graduates who are ready to work, continue their education, or become entrepreneurs. (4) Implementation of the strategy, is carried out by implementing educational programs such as extracurricular activities, implementation of P5 (Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project) and training for teachers. (5) Supervision and evaluation are carried out by the principal actively monitoring the implementation of the strategy, both directly through daily observations such as walking around the school, and indirectly through reports from each field. Forms of evaluation include discussion meetings, class supervision, and monitoring through digital platforms such as the "Mengajar Mandiri" application for teachers.
