The high recidivism rate among prisoners is a serious challenge in the correctional system in Indonesia. This study aims to explore the factors that influence repeat criminal behavior in recidivist prisoners in the Lapas Klas II-b Siborongborong, as well as their psychospiritual resilience in facing challenges. The method used is a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews with eight prisoners. The findings of this study are that internal factors, such as psychological, emotional, and spiritual conditions, as well as external factors, such as economic conditions, social stigma, and family support, provide a contextual understanding of recidivist behavior. David Benner's theory, which emphasizes the importance of spiritual relationships in facing life's challenges, is the basis for the analysis in this study. Although prisoners experience difficulties, many show high self-awareness and a desire to change. Social support from family, friends, and spiritual communities is important in building psychospiritual resilience. Spiritual practices, such as prayer and worship, provide the emotional support needed to overcome difficulties. Overall, this study confirms that psychospiritual resilience is a key factor in helping recidivist prisoners undergo the rehabilitation process and prevent recurrent criminal behavior. This study provides recommendations for programs of spiritual guidance, education, psychological support, and monitoring and evaluation to support the reintegration of prisoners into society.
